What size flywheel on T-56?

I have a T-56 on my 91 camaro Z28 that needs a clutch. Does anybody know what size flywheel it has?

Re: What size flywheel on T-56?

If the T-56 is originally from a 1993-1997 camaro/firebird it should be a 153 tooth flywheel.

But is it the stock 10" or is it 11" flywheel?

Re: What size flywheel on T-56?

Flywheels are not 10" or 11".

Flywheels are 12.8" or 14".

The ONLY flywheels that work with the T-56 happen to be 12.8".

It happens that the clutch disc diameter is about 10.4" in a T-56, maybe a little larger. Not 11". Doesn't too much matter, the WHOLE REST OF THE CLUTCH is completely different from any other clutch. A T-5 application clutch, for example, will NOT work.

Bottom line: doesn't matter what size the clutch is. Either it IS as T-56 clutch, or IT IS NOT a T-56 clutch.

If you need a clutch or flywheel, buy the one for T-56. It will be the size that it is. The ONLY size that there is and that will work.

Well, actually the clutch for an LT1 T56, LS1 T56, and aftermarket T56 are all different, so he needs to know which version of T56 he has.

It's also possible that he is using a T5 bellhousing with an adapter plate thus using stock hydraulic set up and flywheel/clutch set.

Re: What size flywheel on T-56?

Right; IF AND ONLY IF it's not the LT1 version, since there's NO WAY to use that with the stock T-5 BH.

My comments were referring to the LT1 version. Kevin's comment is true.

T5 bellhousing with adaptor plate = aftermarket T56 setup.

Actually the clutch disc diameter for a T-5 is 10.4. The clutch disc diameter for a T-56 is 11. There are no differances between setups except that the corvetes use a 2 piece flywheel.

The Corvettes use a ZF6 not a T56, unless we're talking C5 stuff.
The dual-mass flywheel was a ZF6 thing, because they felt it would take out
the vibes better than a sprung hub.

Yeah, they are 11" not 10.5". I don't know why the thirdgens ran a 10.5" clutch. I'm running a thirdgen flywheel in my corvette with an 11" clutch. The bolt pattern for the corvette/lt1 11" stuff is the same as the T5 10.5" stuff.
