couple ?'s on TH350 rebuild and durabilty
I recently bought a TH350 with the torque arm bracket and driveshaft from this board and i am planning on rebuilding it with my tax refunds..
the car's power and intended use will be about 500hp with an additional150-200shot on top of that, and the car will be regularly driven about 100-200miles a week and see the strip maybe 1or 2 times a month throughout the summer/fall time
ill be using a antibalooning converter w/ around a 3200-3500 stall
with either 3.23's or 3.42s (gotta look at cam selection and specs a little more)
i dont want to go with a reverse manual valve body or anything like that,
i could be off, but i am hoping to run low 11's on spray, in a very streetable, pump gas, foot brake car at full weight like 3400+/-lbs.
my questions are:
are there any 'hard parts' or shafts or anything that should be replaced or upgraded in addition to the normal wear items(clutches, bands, etc) ?
anything know to be weak links or anything.
can anyone reccommend one rebuild kit over another for this level of performance.
any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks

I don't think there are allot of hard parts in it. You can buy all after market input, output shafts and other parts. I ran one for 3 years in my Nova. It ran 10.50 and the only problem I had was a T/C explosion. It was rebuilt with all the stock parts and new clutches. My car also ran a 1.43 60 foot time so it was getting plenty of abuse. But with anything it can still fail.

Call Dana at www.700r4l60e.com He set me up with a rebuild kit and a Trango shift kit. He can also help with any questions you have.
