t5 with a 350hp crate motor
hey folks.....i just put a 350 hp crate motor in my 91 t topped RS. the trans is solid along with a new clutch and a few tranny parts. proffesionally installed.
The delemma is I can only go approx 55MPH in 5th gear(T5) before it red lines while cruising. SO at 55mph my rpms are showing approx 5ooo to 6000 rpms.
i wanna puch this motor alittle bit faster
how can i fix this?
is this normal?
----------
oh yeah this on on stock tires of course...235 55 16's

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Your tach is lying. Your motor is not turning 6000 RPM at 55 mph in 5th gear. You have 3.08 gears, if this was a 305 car originally: the motor is ACTUALLY turning about 1700 RPM under those conditions.
These tachs always do that. They fail by reading high.
Ignore it.
