4L6OE question

Does anyone have experince with the 4L6OE. mine is out of the car and i want to freshen it up before i put it back.

a 4l60e is a 700r4 with electronic control. The internals are the same, so strengths and weaknesses and available parts are the same.

what troubles me with the idea is the whole "electric" thing i have no clue about the valve body. and what suprises may be inside. i would like to see a few (that should read a lot) of pictures, you know ones with circles and arrows and a paragraph describing each. thats not to much to ask. hehehehehe.

A very good manual step by step with photo's for the Transmission is the Haynes GM tranny book 10360......

The ATSG manuals are also good. They contain alot of GM reprint photo's and text.

Axle/Gears: '01 3.42 10 bolt
the atsg books would most likely show the weak points of the 4l60e valve body. there are a couple but don't remember what they are off-hand.
