700r will not shift!!! HELP
First and second are great, but I dont have a 3 or o.d.!!! I think it is the governor? But I dont even know where that is located or what it is....Some help? thx

Axle/Gears: Stock
I would check the trans fluid and see if it is burnt or low. You might even want to pull the pan and replace the filter. My buddy's car took forever to shift, after the filter change the car shifts fine.

I'de say your trans is done for if it's not hitting 3rd or 4th. You may get lucky but I'm betting you've got a dead clutch pack in there.

what about if it doesnt shift at all. I mean it does when i rev it high like red line. I drove it the other day and jsut before it hit red line it felt like it was about to shift, the RMP droped real low then the engine draged. I was very very sluggish. still wouldnt shift up.
COuld it be the gov. or something inside. im not a genious im just trying to try all i can before buying a new one. or doing a rebuild.
if its a rebuild then how easy it. I mean could i do it with a manual? Id rather pay 200 for a kit instead of 1000 for some mech. to do it

Well heres and update guys, got a new th700r4. well used from a junkyard, and a new kick down cable, had to get a mode peice for my carb so i could hook the kick down to it, its not shifting fine having a little trouble witht eh TC locking at the wrong time but im working that out, thanks for all yoru input.
