scary! yea, i'd go do a few checks before you go anywhere:
you mean with the car on the ground, you can push it side to side? (check your panhard rod).
jack up the rear of the car, under the pumpkin, just get the tires off the ground, grab a wheel and try to push it in/out. If that floats then check your outer wheel bearings first, then your c-clips and inner bearings.... (if your c-clips are shot, then you should be able to grab a wheel and pull it, with your axle, in which case you'll crap your pants that it wasn't while you were driving )

don't take turns faster then your grandma would, in a milk truck, loaded full.
I'm having a hard time picturing what's going on, if it's the axle, or the suspension. tightening it won't do anything, just see if the panhard is there, in one piece. Also your rear sway bar.

the panhard bar isthere see, i think i know what happened when it was in my shop getting tuned and such and reg maint, i removed the lower left side of the panhard bar so i could access the pesky rear end pumpkin Housing, Or rear end cap as you could say, i think i remeber asking one of my buddys to torque it up, apprantly he didnt.. and i do remeber hearing a nut or some tool fall on the way home so i think thats the problem i know the bolts still in i havent checked if the nut and washer fell of on the other side
