Speedometer Cable Length
How long is a speedometer cable for a T-5? I'm talking about the one piece unit, non cruise control. And as long as I'm here, I've heard mention of a two piece speedometer cable for mechanical cruise control. My car has cruise control (1984 Z28) but I dont see where there are two cables. I bring it up because I've been replacing parts since I upgraded to a 145 mph speedometer and purchased a new speedometer cable from Ebay. It came today and it's just 5' long. Is that length correct? I don't have my old one out yet, but with all of the turns and bends 5' seems kind of short!

No, it's only threaded for the transmission and then has the "cup" with the cable insert inside for the speedometer head.

If you want to compare length, pull the old cable out of the sleeve and drop the new one in and see if it engages the drive gear at the bottom.
