Will a stock 10 bolt hold up?

I have a 1984 Trans Am w/ the original 10 bolt. It has factory limited slip and i think it has 3.08 gears. My Question is this:I want to put either 4.10 or 4.56 gears in it to,will the 10 bolt last long and isit worth buying and having these gears installed? Drivetrain is in sig.

i have a moser spool, and axles, c-clip elimnator kit and had no probs running a 10 bolt at the strip with slicks. a 12 bolt or 9" for trird gens is going to cost 2000+ . moser everything will cost abot 500 to 600 . i got this stuff while i was running a 468 bbc with 150 nos. and never broke it so i think it will hold up with mods.

I think you'd be lucky if it survived, but your call.
as I like to preach:
solid pinion spacer, axle girdle, weld tubes, main cap studs.

I have a 10 bolt and am planning on beefing it up in the near future, both these articles are under misc. modifications in the Technical Articles section, i copyed the links for you.
