Anyone using the lucas gear oil. Also, it says there is no need for friction modifyers. But I don't alwase trust what the packaging says.

I use in in all my cars and trucks.. even in my boats.. its great stuff if U follow the direction right.. I seen some people just dump it in and endup with way to much in ther and break the oil pump.. in a 2.8 about a pint works well.. much more and it ends up way to thick .. A 350 can run a whole Qt. with no problem at all..

yeh, I would not put too much of that thick stuff in my oil, but I dont think a little hurts. I have 3\4 of a bottle of the oil stabilizer in my 3.8 tbird, works pretty well. But I think it has a harder time starting cold.

As far as the diff fluid. I have a hum in the rear. And I was wondering if this fluid may cause some of that.

I have only seen good results with Lucas products, but it is important to stick to the ratios that Lucas recommends otherwise you will end up too thick and break something.

I think it is crap and you should only use it if your motor is hurt. I put half a quart of oil stabalizer it my old Daytona 2.5 turbo that I never had any problems with and the first time I revved it to redline in fourth gear it lost oil pressure and good bye motor because the oil was to thick to run back to the pan. As far as quieting goes, it might quiet a noisy engine but it made my 5 speed transmission louder, so I could see how it would make a rear louder .
