With the transmission out of the car, with the torque converter installed if you spin the converter it makes a ticking noise every revolution, it's a freshly rebuilt trans, i've been having problems with torque converter lockup, and 3/4 slippage, with the trans installed. when it's installed it still makes the ticking noise while the cars in park or neutral, the more rpms the engines at the faster the clicking noise. the torque converter will not lock up unless i ve been driving the car for at least 20- 30 minute at freeway speeds. when the convert does lock 3/4 doesn't slip. by the way the converter is a new 2k stall lockup. but as soon as you give it some gass and the converter unlocks the rpms will climb 1,500 higher or so and the more gass you give it the more it slips. so if the rpms are at 2k with the converter locked and you give it some gass it'll go up to 3,000-3,500 rpm range. WTF, are thees problems some how related or what, I'm about to drive the car off a cliff because i'm sick of it not working right. i know some one has to have some ideas. whats my problem?
