Look at the front.

Is there a real bearing there or not?

I forget the exact ID but comparing a World to a reg T5 and the front bearings are different. Believe the input shaft isnt supported by a true roller type bearing on the non world class T5.

You might consider a search. I recall seeing pics of the visual differences.

I "believe" there's a metal date tag indicating 88-92. Bolt, left side, Torx 50 (Non WC is a 21 mm 6-point). 26 spline for a V8. Seems that the 89-92 LB9 had the .73 5th gear--which is the same as the L69's--which would give a bit more grunt than the .63.

can someone explain what the difference is between the 5th gear being a .63 rather than a .73. does it change anything else in the trans or is it just a gas mileage saver? what does a bit more grunt mean!!!

just a gas mileage thing, but .73 is nicer because 1 > .63 is kind of a steep jump
