aluminum driveshaft

I bought a aluminum driveshaft of ebay. The seller stated that it was out of a 96 z28 camaro. I went to install it today and couldnt find the right rear ujoint. After searching the boards for info on this driveshaft, I begining to believe that I have a aftermarket driveshaft. Its the correct length but it is 3.5 inches in diameter and has spicer markings all over it. The front diveshaft yoke says spicer and the front ujoint says it too. Also on both ends of the driveshaft it also says spicer. I finally found the right ujoint to get it installed. But is this a factory gm shaft? Any info would be great. Thanks

As far as I know, the LS1 cars had an aluminum spicer from the factory. I am not sure if it was 3.5" in diameter but I never measured one. I do nknow that the truck driveshaft is 4" in diameter so it would make sense the camaro would be slightly smaller, espicailly since they were making more horsepower.
