..found aluminum chunks
I installed a B&M kickdown valve in the 700r4 in my Camaro yesterday and found 2 pieces of aluminum about a 1/2 inch long in the pan, they are both the same shape and look kind of like teeth. The trans was rebuilt in 99' and doesn't have 30,000 km. on it since. How concerned should i be since the trans works perfectly like it always did, shifts well,TC locks up,no weird noises. The only mods have been a corvette servo and now the kickdown kit.I do shift it manually with the mega-shifter now and then. The only other thing i can think of is i remember when i picked up the car after the tranny was done ,the mechanic didn't hook up the tv cable and the car shifted VERY violently until i got it hooked back up.I only drove it once like that. From the look of the teeth, something tells me this might have done it.Those chunks have probably been there for 6 years.Opinions please.
