Corvette 6 speed trans?
My buddy who sold me my car awhile back has a 6 speed tranny out of a 97-98 corvette laying around and is willing to give it to me. Is this a good tranny? I can get the exact year but he said its around there. Is it just like a t56 out of a 97-98 ls1? I hope this works out..

I do believe that none of the corvette t-56s will fit in our cars and the 98-02 tremac t-56 needs extensive modification, your best luck is to use what i am using the borg warner t-56 from 93-97 lt1 f-bodys direct bolt in. do a search youll basically find what i just told you if hes willing to give it to you then your best luck is to sell it. And get the borg warner.

The T56 used in the Vette is designed for use in the transaxel assembly. Consequently it would be cost prohibitive to try and convert it for use in a RWD car with the trans behind the motor. You could literally buy a brand new LT1 T56 cheaper. Pass on that thing. It isn't what you need. Look for a '94-'97 LT1 T56 from an F-body.

I glossed over that free trans part. If it's the whole transaxel, or just the trans I would say take it an sell it too. eBay is a wonderful thing.

Yeah, exactly. That trans isn't useful to anyone but a guy with a Vette. The options are pretty limited.

No idea. I'd check eBay and other sites and try to get an idea of what they go for.
