Who is running a TH350 and 3.73 gears?

I am swapping out my 700R4 for a TH350 soon and I have 3.73 gears. This is not a daily driver, but strip/weekend warrior type setup.

How do you guys like the performance? What modificaton do you suggest or not suggest to do to the TH350?

I've had quite a number of cars like that over the years. About all the old 60s mucsle cars came from the factory that way.

I like my 3.73 gears and th-350. Its enough gearing for performance but you can still drive it on the highway without hurting your engine...I wouldn't want this setup for long highway trips but for short trips to the track or cruises its fine.
As far as modifications to the th-350 its a matter of personal preference and intended usage. The usual upgrades are always good, shift kit and trans cooler. I have a reverse full manual valve body and shift kit its a lot of fun to drive. But if the car is driven a lot on the street especially stop and go traffic you might want to stay away from the manual valve body.

I have 3.73 gears and a th350 with a manual/automatic valvebody. The motor screams for mercy on the highway 80mph=4000rpm. But its not overly bad.

FWIW next i want to go with a built 200-4r or a T56. more gears and OD rules.

Well, I have located 3 transmissions so far. Two are out of 4-wheel drive and will require a different output and tail shaft. The other one has been built, but has a cracked housing. The guy has and extra housing to go with it.

As far as the OD, I can keep my 700r4 and put it back in later if I change my mind. Or if I decide to do something different with the car. I will probably keep it at around 55 on the highway, so that shouldnt be too bad.

Who has the best rebuild kits? I know dana at probuilt has a kit for the turbo for about $265.
