Torque Converter Preference
Hey guys I was wondering what your preference for a cheap converter would be. I'm in the market for one that is around 2200 stall.

I have a 9.5" Torco converter (now sold under the Art Carr name). It cost like $360 shipped. I believe what Torco does is build a crap load of slightly different converters, put them on a shelf, then when you call they'll ask you a buncha questions about your motor, then go and pick one off the shelf that best suits what you want. I told 'em I wanted a 3500 stall, told about the car, cam specs, weight, etc. One week later I had it.
This converter is neat because it drives around like a normal car and idles forward in gear. I can footbrake it to about 2500RPM with my crappy brakes and it'll flash to about 3600RPM. Leaving from a stop light you dont feel any of that "dynoing effect" with loose converters or anything. Very solid, cheap, and works perfectly.
