Thm 700 R4
Noticed there are alot of issues with these trannies. But My camaro is on it's third one ( as far as I know) and this one is out of an S-10. I have had problems with it requiring a lot of rpms to accel and shift, almost like a slip. I have asked mechanics and freinds about this, and the mechs say to play with the throttle cable. I have done this, but it only seems to make matters worse. I have had freinds tell me the same thing and also that it may be the tourqe converter, or a clogged filter. The filter I haven't had the time to check, and the torque converter I am clueless about. Let's face it, I am rather clueless altogether about my car, but I want to fix that. Anyway, I need help and would appreciate any and all ideas that could save me some time and money on the matter. Right now I only have $400 to work with, and working on it myself is pretty much out. (No time and no place to work on it anymore.) Thanks in advance!

Yeah i would remove and replace the filter , thats really cheap and easy so start with that . A clogged filter can cause a lot of things to happen.

If you don't know what your doing and you mess with the detent cable or otherwise called the TV cable you can burn up a 700R4 within 5 miles. That cable changes the pressure in your trans. I have just gone through the same thing. Hope it's helpfull.
