U joint help

Hi, I have fully attached my ford 9" rear end on the camaro today and ran into a problem. Before I begin, I do know that i most likely need a conversion U joint of some sort. The driveshaft U joint does not fit properly into the ford 9" yoke. I do not know which yoke I have. I know there's a 1350 and I think a 1330. This is not an aftermarket moser or strange rear end! Is their a way to determine which yoke I have and from there buy a conversion U joint that will fit. Also, If anyone has the stock sizes for a camaro, that would probably help also.

I took some measurments of the yoke with a dial caliper.

From the center of the bolt hole to the other (width-the shorter distance), i got 1.578".

Lengthwise(also measuring from the center of the bolt holes) I got 3.258".

Diameter of bolt holes is 0.308".

From lockpoint to lockpoint on the part of the yoke that holds in the U joint, it measured out to be 3.629".

Remember, this is a rear U joint and measurments could probably be off roughly +/- 0.15". I hope these measurements help in determining which U joint I need to purchase.

Best bet is to call any good drivetrain shops in your area. Sadlers if you have them up there. They make all sorts of covnersion joints and depending on the power your putting to it, your better off with a Spicer severe duty joint. They are solid with no hollow grease provisions to weaken the joint.

Ok, I have now researched a learned some more information. Let me be a little more clear about the problem. The joint sems to fit, just not snugly. I am not sure if it will fit snug after I tighten the C-clips. But, most of the problem is the C-clips I guess. I am using the ones off of the 10bolt rear end because I do not have the ones off of the ford 9". Would different C-clips solve the problem? Please contribute your suggestions.

If the caps fit snuggly in the saddles with no movement back and forth between the keeper tabs, then you could possibly try different straps. I would'nt have a clue as to what from though

Here is a Part # chart
http://www.cvaxles.com/drivelineimages/rockford.htm

Will not help you with the one that you need.

The stock U-joint for the rear is a 534G (Precision#) and it is a 3R joint.

If you have a NAPA store by you they can look up the size in one of the books and figure out what you need.
