Hydraulic lock up for Torque converter

Do to my a spelling error I am reposting this question as people may have not understood my question.

Hydraulic lock up for Torque converter

The tranny shop I am dealing with has recommended a, “Hydraulic lock-up torque converter kit” They are telling me they can put a hydraulic device inside the transmission that will lock and unlock the converter on its own, no wires at all, no brake switches, no maintenance. Has anyone ever used one? And if so are they any good? What would the pros and cons of use a hydraulic lock-up be?

In most lockup transmissions there are sensors / switches which can serve the purpose of switching a lockup solenoid on & off. In the GM 700-R4 & 200-4R, I believe both have a port for a 4th gear pressure switch.

Running the lockup when in 4th gear would work "fine." This won't allow the converter to unlock when you're hauling *** though, which sometimes is preferable. Basically what they're suggesting is fine, but running lockup based on a vaccuum switch or ECM as the control is a more "refined" way of doing it.
