Is it true that if I get short gears like 4.11's it will make the car whine at high speeds,

I have Richmond 3.73 and they whine from 40-45 or so, I set them up to specs 5 times and never changed a thing. The GM gears if set up correctly will not whine, I have heard good things about Richmond gears and I guess that I have a bad gearset, but its to late now. Guess it all depends on what gears you buy, recomend not to buy motive gears, they are horrible. IMO
