Axle swap,speedo gear.
Well, finished my 2.77 10 bolt to a 9 bolt 3.27 swap and as we all know my speedo is off by about 10 mph.1st question is,any idea what speedo gears I would need for the 700r4?2nd is,my tranny shifts sooner from 1st to 2nd but 2nd to 3rd takes longer. Is that just a simple tv cable adjustment?

Well I just did this swap about 3 weeks ago and I called the GM dealership to get part numbers months before. This is what they gave me...
14071731 Drive gear
14090580 Driven gear
The speedo seems pretty accurate but I have really done much to see if its dead on.
I was glad to see that I only jumped up about 500 rpms when cruising with the gear swap.

Thanks for the info,I'll go buy them on monday.Yeah I'm really happy with the swap, what a difference over 2.77's huh?It puts me in such a better rpm range now.How has your gas mileage changed?I have gone through half a tank so far and haven't noticed a difference.

My friend actually did the tranny gear swap for me cuz hes a mechanic and I didnt wanna touch the tranny.
I took out the bolts to get at them though and that kind of sucked because some of them are hard to get at. I wasnt watching though when he actually changed the driven and drive gears though so I cant say how hard it is.
