T-5 to 200-4r swap
What all is involved in swapping a 2004r into an 84 camaro?
Will the stock driveshaft even be close to fitting?
How many splines are on a T5 tailshaft? 27?
I'm pretty sure a 200-4r is 27.
Will the crossmember have to go forward or backward?

I found out that the 200-4r and T5 have the same amount of spiles.
I don't know if the crossmember will work out, do any of you?

I don't think the crossmember or drive shaft will work. The 200-r4 is the same length as the th200c trannys that came in 82 and 83 and close to the same as a TH350. A drive shaft from a 82 or 83 will work. THe crossmember just needs to be moved a little and new holes drilled.

I am guessing that the T5 is longer than a 2004R, am I right?
I am thinking i will have to move the crossmember back 5 inches, am I that far off?

I've got a TH200-R4 in our 1983 T/A.
The car originally had the TH200C transmission, which is the same length as the TH200-R4. So... get a drive shaft from an 82-83 with the TH200C transmission. Yes, the TH200-R4 is shorter then the TH700 and T5.
As for the tranny mount, you need to get creative and weld something up (you can use the existing one as a starting point). You will also need to fabricate a torque arm mount bracket to the crossmember mount, because the TH200-R4 does not have provisions for it. I believe Spohn has a torque arm/crossmember setup for the TH200-R4......
If you need pictures of our fabricated crossmember, PM me. We used the T5/TH700 crossmember, and added material to it.
