Got a surprise delivery today :)

I was expecting a call from Currie Enterprises this week to OK the shipping charges for the 9 inch I had ordered about 3 weeks ago but got this instead Just a bit better than a phone call hehe.

This is their stage 1 rear end minus the 3rd member which I'm buying localy from a friend. That's going to have posi (of course) and 4.56 gears. Should have it in over the weekend if I don't have any problems, worried about the brake lines and driveshaft though. Next step will be finally taking the car to the track to see what it'll do

That's the rear I intend to order very soon! Looks good! But I thought the stage1 kit came with the complete drum setup and thirdmember with gear ratio of your choice too? I thought I read somewhere it comes with the 1350 yoke also.

If you don't mind me asking, what'd run ($$)?? PM me if ya don't want to post it. I understand believe me!

I ordered it without the third member because a friend of mine had what I wanted for a hell of a lot cheaper. You can also get the rear disc upgrade for 100 bucks but I stuck with the 11 inch drums. With shipping and tax it was just a little over 1500 bucks. Shipping was only 68 since Currie is only about 500 miles away, came in 3 boxes by UPS hehe.

LOL yeah, I'm tired of trying to take off only to spin the one wheel. It was so nice when I had the powertrax locker in there but it broke Going from 3.42 gears to 4.56 gears will make it launch better too Going to give those hoosiers a workout hehe

Looks good.

Good thing this is a 9in because those 4.56's are killer gears more then most peoples setups can handle. I had a 14 bolt setup with 4.56's behind my 402 it was like driving around in 1st gear in 3rd. I could take off in second with radials and totaly roast them.

You gotta get us some pics of the install and the aftermath.

It should be a bolt in deal, I'm dropping the stock rear out today and see how far I get.

They should be good for motor passes but 4.11's would be better for nitrous passes I'll have to step up in tire size I think, oh well. They'll be fun around town for sure and I don't get on the highway much at all.

yeah i was thinking that the 4.56 s were a little steep for a daily driver ..lol.....
i had a 1 ton quad cab chevy dually with the 14 bolt i believe but it had brand new 4.56 gears in it .....talk about a torque monster it also had the 454 in it ..lol..
only got about 8 miles to the gallon but it also got 8 miles to the gallon even if it were loaded to the top or pulling a car trailer ..lol.....
