damn... I had one that might have worked. Went through hell hooking my speedo up. I bought the 89 bird, engine was shot. Bought an 89 Camaro, same engine but had gear driven speedometer. So I drove quite awhile without a working speedo. Asking everyone who doesnt know anything like the ppl at the dealership, trans shops, speedo shops... crackheads.. lol
Anyway, what fixed mine was, I had to replace the tailshaft housing because the mechanical speedo sender hole was to small, the electric speedo sender was like 2" and the gear driven.. I forget like an inch or so. So I got the housing from a junkyard. Came off of a TA, dont remember the year but it had the correct housing. Then I went to the dealership to have them look up the exact speedo sender that came in my car from the factory. They say the closest one within the 4 surrounding states was in houston and they could order it. came with the Electric speedo sensor and the plastic gear that goes on the tail shaft. Keep in mind there are like 4 different kinds of electric speedo's and I would imagine several different kinds of gears that attach to them. If you get the wrong one your car is gonna do what mine did at first. " 0-2MPH, speedo read 0-120MPH and shut off the engine at 120" That wasnt fun troubleshooting.
So all in all, go to the junkyard and get you the tail shaft housing for 5 bucks or so, go find the exact speedo sender that came stock with that speedometer in your car. Unbolt the old tailshaft, take off the existing speedo gear on your tail shaft. Slip on the new one and install the clip correctly, hope that the tailshaft housing that you bought bolts up and lines where the sender and gear meet, wire it up and you got it. The only tricky part is in the topic of this thread. 350 turbo tailshaft hosing with an electric speedo hole in it that fits your unique speedo sender and lines it up in perfect condition. But with boneyard parts, your not throwin away to much money. Good luck

keep in mind, mine was a 700R4, I'm not sure if the tailshaft housings are different. I've got the longer lookin one. *srugs*
