Th350
Alright my 700 no longer has 3rd gear so I was going to buy a rebuilt TH350 from a buddy of mine. It's currently in a big chevy van. I'm pretty sure It'll fit with my driveshaft and all that. I was wondering if the torque converter would be a higher stall than the stock 700r4 tq converter??
Thanks
Thanks

Hmm I thought there was a TH 350 that bolted up with all the stock components without a problem and a TH 350 that didn't. After I did a search it looks like it isn't going to be that easy. I guess I'll hafta wait a little longer to buy all this conversion ****, I miss driving my car.

You need a TH350 with a (longtail) 9" tailshaft to fit a stock 700R4 driveshaft. B&M makes changeover kit that includes a bracket to mount your torque arm and a bracket so you can use the stock 700R4 crossmember. If you get a 6" tailshaft TH350 you'll either need to lengthen your current one 3" longer or find one out of a 82-83 fbody.
It'd also be a very good idea to get a new shifter or else your indicator will be wrong. You can get one out of a 82-83 car or buy an aftermarket one like B&M's Megashifter.

go with a 6" tailshaft
if your kind of a lead foot like me, id go with the 6" and get a longer DS, had a 9'' and it consistently trashed the rear oil seal, went with a 6 " and havent had any problem, btw the shaft wasnt bent
