Torque arm bushing bracket bolt nut stripped!
After chaning my transmission mount I went to take out the torque arm bushings/brackets and so I proceeded to remove the top nut of the outer bracket. It is stripped and I couldn't get it off.
How do I get this off and more importantly, can this be replaced easily?
=(
Thanks
Joe

Stupid me didn't put a wrench on the other end of the bolt, DOH!
Well I got it off but once I got the inner bracket loose it won't come out, bolt too long. The bushing is riveted to a little plate and then that plate is spot welded to the bracket. I tried prying the transmission over but still couldn't see the threads so I gave up and put it all back. I wasn't in the mood to drop the transmission to get it out.
I'm assuming you have to drop the transmission to get this bracket out, correct?

Well I dropped the transmission and after pushing the transmission to the side via the drive shaft I got the inner bracket out.
On the install I used a c-clamp on the bottom of the inner bracket and the top of the outer bracket an it brought everything together nicely.
There was only about 5 pounds of dirt on top of my fuel lines, =).
Thanks
Joe

Does anybody know where I can get that bracket?? I pulled the engine out of my 87' z and when I was under the car I found that the bracket was gone... it is the bracket by the tranny. Any help is greatly appreciated.
