Is it possible to install a 4th gen six speed in a 3rd gen car?

Is it possible to install a 4th gen six speed in a 3rd gen car?
well im sure its possible. but has anyone done it? is there a kit with crossmember and whatnot. i have a lt1 out of a 96 vette and installed and now have a blown automatic. wanting to switch to a shifter anyway. any help, pics would be much appreciated.

Hey welcome abaord. You will see that many people go with the T56 (4th gen 6spd) swap because it is stronger than the T5 found in 3rd gens and it is just plain fun. You will want to use stuff from an LT1 car like you mentioned. Check out the stickys up top. You will need to learn about VSS, flywheels, clutchs, crossmembers and linakages. It is a pretty straight forward swap. There are lots of guys that have posted the results of their swaps and what was ultimately involved. A little searching should give you all the info you need.
