Please help with 700r4 build up!

I am going to get a 700r4 to replace my turbo 350 and I have a few questions.. I want a stall of around 2600-2700 who makes good torque convertors for that area and where can I find one...I also have heard about people using vette servos as well...how does that work and where can I find one...Last question with regards to shift kits what are your opinions about it and which one should I use and where to find it..Thanks for your help..

well let me start off by suggesting Raptor. they specialize in the 700Rs and make a good product from what Ive seen. they also have a servo available that has even more holding power than the corvette one. I say check their site out and see what you can find out there.

Here's a few locations to get one.

Hope this helps you out.
http://www.700raptor.com/
http://www.transmissionhead.com/
http://shop.store.yahoo.com/performa...700raptor.html

While this is just a few places to get the Raptor transmissions, there are no doubt more out there. Some of the other members might know where to get one for a little better price. The only downside's to the 700R4 that I know of would be the fact that if you we're to drag with someone who has the 350TH or the 400TH, second gear in the 700R4 will allow you to lose a little ground during take off, however not enough to really worry about. The other problem would be the reverse planetary cracking appart sending debris through out the transmission. If a planetary goes, you'll know it. Sounds like a tire blowing out. Good thing is, the inside of the transmission is so confined, only small parts of the planetary gets into the fluid system and the car is still drivable for a short time. When mine went, I was able to drive for about another 80 miles before it finally quit. At least it got me home. Best thing about the 700R4, gas milage. With 210,000 miles on my Firebird, I still get approx. 20/27 MPG.

THanks but I cant afford a pro built tranny...I just bought a regular 700r4 today for a steal and it works great but it just shifts to normally for me...lol...Here are the parts I am thinking of using a Raptor billet servo, Raptor billet overdrive servo, raptor mega valve, Hayden tranny cooler,Raptor street raptor torque convertor, Raptor low/reverse boost valve....THis is going on a fairly mild 350 it will have around 325-350hp when I am done with it... Does this sound good or should I throw in some other things...

Go to www.bulkparts.com you can get the SAME parts for half the price. Save yourself some money if you can put the parts in yourself it's worth taking a look.

First, the Corvette servo will work fine, and the same for the OD servo. Thes others are "overkill". Install the Trans-Go Performance Shift kit (modified) and you will get everything necessary to do this right the first time and you will keep the smooth part throttle shifts, along with firm WOT shifts.

What do you modify in the Trans-Go kit?
