?on my 5spd
hey guys i have a lil problem with my tranny i have a new 90 camaro rs 5.0 5 spd and when i put it in first gear and slowly let out the clutch sometimes the gear will pop out and make a scartching noise in the tranyy like the flywheel or something wat can it be?

Sounds like someone used to like to shift your tranny into 1 st with no clutch action. I think it is a worn out syncro. or bent up shift fork, I have also seen where people forget to install thier shifters right and it doesn't click it in far enough.

how will i know if the shifter was put in wrong?or how the other things u said are bad?

Remove the console and look down at the shifter, the square plate that bolts the shifter to the tranny should look like the shifter stick is offset towards the rear of the car. If it is offset towards the front then the shifter is on backwards,just unbolt the 4 bolts and turn it around 180 and bolt it back down.
