Moser, Currie, or Strange rears??
I've been browsing all three of these places for either a 12 bolt or 9" rear for my car. So far, Currie seems to have a decent package with the stage-1 9" rear, because it at least has 11" drums that come with it. I presently have a one-legger aluminum drum rear....will those drums adapt to any of the aftermarket rears?? I don't nessesarily need to have disc on the rear, but it'd be nice.
What's the best deal?? I plan to run this behind a 400 I recently had built (for the street), and I think the torque is a bit too high for a beefed up 10 bolt.
Or is there somewhere else I should look at?? I'm just not trying to waste additional $$$ if I don't have to.
Thanks for any input in advance!!

I have the Strange 12 bolt in my Camaro - heavy but good. Its a bolt-in and you have a few options - c-clip eliminators, rear disc brakes, proper mounts for tq arm, springs... 95% bolt-in as is comes.

Can I have it set up to run my stock drum brakes for now, and switch over to disc later? Or should I do this from the git-go??
I intend to give them a call anyway, but I just wanted to get some feedback from the board first.
BTW - Nice 1/4 times on the '84!!!

I guess you could get them to use drum brake brackets - never asked. The rear I bought was the base one - the only option they mentioned was a upgraded posi unit - not meant for street use. I also paid $2,000 not including truck shipping for the rear. The only thing I needed to get was 4 longer bolts for the calipers and everything else swapped (brake lines, e-brake, tq arm...). Looks like a factory 10 bolt when you paint it too.

It's OK....a fair question. I'm running 390 HP and 490 TQ, so it may not be overkill, unless you think a 9 bolt will work??

I run a 12 bolt from Moser, it's held up for 3 years now behind a 650hp/700tq and being launched off a t-braked TH400 in a 3550lbs car. No problems so far
