ford 9-inch or ford 8.8-inch rear end...??
ok so Eaton Posi has an electronic differential that with the push of a button can go from locked or limited slip but for a ford 8.8" rear end. is this the same as a 9 inch?

No. They are totally different. No parts interchange.

ARB definately makes an air locker for the 9", but be prepared to pay. The locker is like $500+, and then you need the compressor for another $250. Don't get me wrong they are great, and very tough, but they aren't cheap.
A lot of 4X4 guys run them in the front axel, because it allows them to unlock the front end to regain a tighter turning circle whent hey get into a tight spot on the trail.
