B&M Vs. All Others, Transmission Cooler, Oil Cooler

This afternoon I will be installing a B&M SuperCooler, #70266. This unit is rated at a level of 28,000 GVW without a fan!!!

All I can say is that this cooler sets the standard for all coolers to try and reach.

I bought this cooler used locally from forum member WILLIE, in near perfect shape. I also borrowed a cooler from forum member ESAMS for comparison. Both these coolers are used, with a few thousand miles each.

The pictures dont show the road/wear scaring real good, but it should be noted that you could probably hit the B&M cooler with a baseball bat and do little damage. The other cooler has some bent fins from road stones and debris.

The B&M cooler is designed to operate just like a radiator, it is also designed to keep system PSI up when used as an engine oil cooler, it is built with side tanks and 36 fluid crossover fins!!! The other style coolers just let the fluid snake through in an S-Pattern, a far less efficient design. This is very clear in the pics.

If you find this thread while searching for info about coolers dont make the wrong choice, go with a B&M.

The B&M cooler is twice as think as the other cooler!!!

Do you have a pic of a B&M oil cooler?
You are looking at it!!!

The Supercooler can be used for either oil or trans cooling duty.

Cool, I've been planning on getting the Supercooler to get rid of my generic Hayden cooler. I like how you can use AN fittings....I plan to use -6AN plumbing from the tranny to the Supercooler.

Yea there alright, I used a 16 pass Modine unit way back when. It worked quite well although it was rated quite a bit higher then your B&M cooler.

I'd suggest for anyone reading this and considering a larger capacity external cooler to run through the radiator inline so it doesent take a month for the fluid to reach operating temp. Too cool is just as bad as too hot.
