There is no combination of gears that will work with 4.11's. You'll need an external ratio adapter.

i think they are 60(could be 65's) 15's or do you want inches? if so id have to guess(without going outside) 25-26.5 ish. but not sure. i am pretty sure they are just stock size. but Apeiron- where do you get an ext. ratio adapter?

I don't know offhand... most speedometer shops should be able to build or locate one for you, or you could search the net.

I dont really know what to do to change the inside gear. is it an easy job? i have 2 tranny's ones on the ground for spare and the other is in the car(other one is out of an 87 5-speed TPI Iroc) does the tail housing just come off and its right there? or is it a big process?

Hold up a minute...
I just done screwed eveything up.
I know the calculations and can figure out what you need, but I was working off of bad information.
I need a list of the speedometer gears available for the GM T5 transmission... I was accidentally using the numbers for the Ford T5, DOH!
So far, all I can find is Ford **** and all of the automatics, but no GM T5. If anyone can find me that, then I can get you what you need.

Who is running 4.11's and has there speedo close to correct? Bandit what gear are you running??? part number? ect?

Sorry bud, I am running a 700R4 with 3.70 gears and a Moser 9" rear. I am changing the tires setup, so I will leave my gears as they are until I get the setup I want. The gears for the T5 and 700R4 are different, but the mathis the same. All I need is the gears available and I can find you what you need, or something close to it. However, if the gears are to steep with your tire setup (I wouldnever recommend anything over 3.90 in a 3rd gen) then you COULD have a custom gear made to work, but that might be expensive.

You are in luck, pal. This board is a wealth of knowledge and products.
To make life easier for you, especially since I am pretty sure you won't be able to get the gears you need without getting them custom made, you should just get this thing: http://www.dakotadigital.com/Detail....rtNumber=SGI-5

Here's how you calculate the gear teeth count you need.
https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=202380
Keep in mind, you can only get whole numbers of teeth (18, 19, 20, etc) so you may not be able to hit it right on the head; but you should be able to get within 3% or so, if (big if there) the gears are actually available.

RB- by the equation you put up on the other post. i figured with the 4.10 gears, i woud need 26.25 in tires or 26 anywhere in between would be close, which i think would be a 60 series 15in tire. i woud need a 7 tooth drive gear and 22 tooth driven gear......now how hard would it be to change the gear in the transmission? do i have to yank everything apart or is it simple???

You'll have to pull the extension housing off.
But most T-5s that came in cars with 3.23 or higher rears already have the right drive gear. Older ones were blue, newer ones are purple. Count the teeth. If it's already a 7, then all you need is the 22 to finish it up.

Yeah, I have a T5, was 3.23 and now have 4.10's, and my speedo is dead on the money (even went from 15-16" wheels), well it may be 2 mph off, but no more, and since you have the same drive gear I do, you should be able to get it. Go to u'r local dealer, and have them look up speedo gears for the blue drivegear, and get the one with the most teeth, I forget how many exactly it had, but I know I got the one that had the most teeth available, and I can't believe how damn near accurate it is. Give it a shot, it's worth it, and it only takes 20 seconds to order, and 19 seconds to install. Any questions PM me, and no I don't have the part number, sorry.
