Synchromesh in a T-5?
I've heard that some people have used synchromesh in their T-56's and TKO's with good results, Would it work well in a T-5? What is the difference between it and ATF or gear oil? From my understanding, it's only availible at a Chevy dealership right? Does anyone have a p/n and price for it?

You have synchromesh and syncrhomesh w/ friction modifier. The only time I have ever used this stuff was in a mid 90's S10 with a 2.2L (The only tranny GM recommends putting this stuff in). If I remember it wasn't cheap, call any Chevy parts counter and they will be able to find it for you. I have used Dextron III w/ limited slip additive in my T5 with good results, same with my buddies '94 T/A with a T56.

It will work fine in a T5 if its one that takes ATF and not gear oil. If it takes gear oil use a synthetic 80-90w. The syncromesh is basicly like a synthetic ATF fluid but a much higher quality that is less likely to break down. I suggest its used to replace all ATF fluids in manual transmissions. You can only get it at the dealers, dodge and fNord all have thier similiar products that are the same formula, so you can get it at almost any type of domestic car dealerships parts counter.
