B&M 30299 TH350 Kit

Alright... I know how the kit attaches to the trans, and I know of the 9" tailshaft requirement to use the stock drive shaft from a 700R4 equipped car.

I have yet to recieve my kit, but the trans is on the way.

Supposidly with the 700>>>350 swap, you need to get one of the GM parts. Why can't you reuse the original 700R4 Torque Arm Mount?

Is this because the original one is rivited together? (Which has since been de-rivited for a poly bushing).

That's all I can think of since I havn't seen any pictures other than this one of the kit on a trans.

Anyone know for sure?!

I am getting ready to do this swap and was wondering about the GM part that I need too...what exactly is it and where does it connect to?

Well, I installed the B&M kit today...it looks like the old torque arm mount will work...not sure why they say you need to purchase a new outer mount...I just cut the rivets out of the old mount and it bolts right up to the kit.

In the pic I have attached you can see the isolator mount that needs to be removed from the one part of the torque arm mount...you can also see 3 holes directly below it...if you use the original outer bracket, you will have to drill one or two more holes to bolt it to the kit. I should have taken a pic of it after I drilled the new hole and bolted it together...I will try to get one tomorrow.

Just be sure that you remove the rubbber piece from the correct half of the mount! If I remember correctly it is pretty easy to figure out...I think only one could be removed.

I've got all the rubber removed, because along time ago I bought a Poly Mount, and so the rivits had to be drilled out and such.

Thanks for more info. I'll look forward to the next pic!

Sorry it took so long...but here is the pic of the opposite side of the B&M kit and how the old torque arm bracket mounts...the mount does not have a hole that matches up with the B&M part so you will have to drill one or two. I am guessing that the other part that they say you need to buy is just the bracket with the holes in the correct spot.

Well I got my kit and tried to use the stock bracket, and The way it's positioned, it made the mount kind of sideways. I'll get a pic of it tomorrow, but the GM bracket has the hole that bolts not so far away from the rubber mount. Hard to explain. I'll get pictures.

Found out I can't use my solid ES Poly Mount either. Have to use the two piece.
