Speedo Says 65 mph actually 60 mph

Speedo Says 65 mph actually 60 mph

i noticed today as i drove by one of those radar stands that my speedo says 65 but i am actually going 60. what would cause this?

Hey, I live near Dayton too. If you want I can meet up with you and I could your check your actual speed with my GPS. If your car reads a constant 5 mph off then there is a simple fix we could try.

When I had my Formula my speedometer was off by 3mph, so I reset it using my gps and made it accurate to about a 1/2 mph. Now I have a TA w/ a digital dash. It reads .5 faster than what I am actually going,....but I'm not too worried about messing around w/ it for that small of a difference.

I should mention at 35 mph i am really going 35 mph. but by 60 my speedometer is reading 65. can it be fixed?

Don't go by those radar readings they are always off. I have a new car and I drive by a couple of those things a day and none have the right speed reading. Pace your car with someone elses car to see if it is right.
