Vigilante torque converter

Hey guys this is my first post to the board. I have a problem with my torque converter. i just installed a vigilante torque converter in my 94 z28 with lt1 and 4l60e trans. I was running 13.4s before the change but after i changed to the vigilante my car is running 13.9's i have no idea what the hell happened. Thats the only thing that i change that would effect the way the car would run. Have any of you ever heard of this or have had it happen to you?
I think the car should have run a high 12 with the converter change?

Thanks

Tom

How did your 60 foot and mph change between before and after? I have a vigilante 3200 stall on my LS1 and I will tell you it is probably the best stall money can buy for our cars.

hello

my 60 foot with slicks and the stock converter was 2.0
mph was 102 and my 1/4 mile time was 13.4.

with the vigilante 2800 stall and slicks it was 1.87 60 foot
mph was 98 and 1/4 mile time was 13.9

thats what i cant figure out maybe i got a bad converter or something?

any ideas, it was installed correctly.

What was the weather like for the 2 runs? It looks like you lost a ton of top end which definitely should not be happening.

hi

the weather was pretty much the same

65 the first time when i ran 13.4
95 when i ran 13.9
68 when i ran 13.9

it seems it will only run 13.9 i dont thing 3 degrees will make a 1/2 sec difference ya know.

i agree with you about the top end , is it possible for convertes to slip at high rpm. whne i leave the light it pulls like hell in 1st gear then slowly dies out in 2nd and 3rd.

Generally with converters it will drastically reduce your 60 ft times while not effecting yout mph very much at all. Something is definitely wrong. It should not be slipping like that. Are you sure you installed it right?

I suggest going back to the stock-previous converter and see if that returns the car to "normal". If it does, then you know the converter or the install was faulty.
