Backward Tranny Cooler Lines, Problem???
I think this should be an easy one to answer. A while ago I took out the steel lines going from the tranny to the radiator and replaced them with the ruber tranny hoses so that I could route them in a better place away from the headers. When I did this there is a possiblilty that I got them backwards. Will this make a difference in performance of the tranny or in how fast it heats up??? I noticed that when going up steep hills if the water temp got above 220 the tranny would slip quite abit under load.
So could it be that the lines are backwards and thats whats wrong??? Or is that just normal???

I could be completely wrong but I would not think that the direction the fluid went into the radiator would make a difference. It would still flow the same way into the tranny. I guess it would be like tuning your radiator upside down. So my vote is NO flow does not matter or they would have made the fittings different sizes.

He's right. As long as the fluid comes in one side and goes out the other it doesn't matter. If it's slipping, your clutches are already on their way out. You better start thinking about replacing it NOW. Oh and next time, use an external cooler with a fan on it

Are you sure about that? Supposidly the tranny was rebuilt about 10k miles ago before I bought it. I would hope that its not shot already. It only slips when it gets really hot, like 230 or higher, but above that it works great. Anything else that it could be?

, under the motor there is 2 clips one is for the bottom hose and one for the top if using the prebent aluminum ones they will cross at this point coming from your cooler and you'll know rather than worrying if it's backwards good luck
