T56 shifter in a T5?

I did a search and could find a definite answer. I have an 88 GTA with a WCT5. I also have the stock t56 shifter that I took out of my 94 Firehawk from when I put an SLP unit in. Can I put the shifter in the GTA?

yea, it'll fit just fine, you just have to have the T-56 to go with it.

I believe, from what i've heard the part of the shifter that goes into the transmission is too long or too short in a T-56 to fit in a T-5.
