Torque Specs for Pressure plate?
What are the torque specs for the pressure plate to the flywheel? The book i have says its 50 Ft*Lbs, but i already snapped two bolts, Its not the torque wrench, b/c i bought a new one. Any idea on the torque specs for those 6 bolts? Thanks
BTW: 6 cyclinder engine, w/ the 5 speed manual out of an 88 firebird... Thanks

50 ft-lbs is ridiculous.
They're 3/8"-16 bolts. They should torque to about the same as any other 3/8"-16 bolts, if they needed any more or less torque, they'd be a different size.
30-35 ft-lbs is the correct spec.
Work them down gradually and evenly, going around the clutch in a circle, a half turn at a time on each one, so as not to bend the clutch cover.
