driveshaft question
i need a longer driveshaft for my car, it looks like it needs to be 38.5" but does anyone know of a car thats got a stock driveshaft that long or longer in the same thickness as out stock shafts? I don't want to have issues with the torque arm being hit by the driveshaft...shortening is not a problem, but i need it 3" longer than stock (v8 auto) cuz i have a short tailshaft on my th350

If you have the short tailshaft 350 you should be all set with the driveshaft you have now. When I put my 350 "long" tailshaft in I had to get my driveshaft cut 3 inches. I remember actually looking for a short tail 350 so I wouldnt have to cut. If I remember right the long tail is 9" and the short is 6"

yup, thanks a bunch, found a shop to lengthen my driveshaft for $75, 1hr return time, so i'm pretty happy, couldn't get to them today, so it's gonna be done monday, they're chopping my yokes off and welding them to a brand new peice of steel tube (looks tight a it sits right now w/o the yokes on it) should hold up, if not, i guess i'll call Denny's Driveshafts and get a nitrous ready shaft for $300

so would 40.5 inches be the perfect length for a 6" tail th-350 driveshaft? was the driveshaft measured center of u-joint to joint or weld to weld? if you guys could reply id appreciate it
