T-56 speedo cable drive

I'm installing a T-56 in a car originally equipped with a speedo cable. I've ordered a package of parts and instructions from JTR to perform the tailshaft conversion.
But, after a week and a half, they have yet to ship my order.
Does anyone an alternate source for this conversion?
I'd really enjoy telling JTR where to go with their lack of service, but if they're the only source, I'll have to bite my tongue for a while longer.

Thanks,
Q

Edit: Sorry, this isn't the tranny board.

Thanks, Ed.

JTR continues to offer converted tailshafts on an exchange basis at their website www.jagsthatrun.com. However, this service is no longer available.
Parts and instructions are claimed to be available, but getting them shipped is proving difficult.

Is anyone aware of another source for this conversion?

Exactly. But if you try to place an order, sorry, not available.
I've been one the phone with them a couple of times. Once to place an order for the parts, and once to find out why the order hasn't arrived.
Plan B... Put an electric speedometer in my car. Maybe then I won't have to deal with JTR.

I bought the kit. They do take their time but your biggest problem is going to be finding a shop to do the machining. It took them 3-4 months to finally ship me my kit. Most of the pieces are GM OEM anyways so I don't know why they take so long. It wasn't hard once I found a shop who was willing to take on the work. The kit is working fine and it's noce to have a stock speedo in there.

JTR came through.
The T-56 speedo drive kit arrived today. A second phone call and some gentle prodding worked wonders.
The kit is surely no bargain, but the alternatives are limited.

OK, NJITIROC, here's the specs...
'86 Monte Carlo SS (explains the screen name)
L-69/ 200-4R/ 3.73:1 posi when stock.
Upgrading to an '89 L-98 w/ ported heads & plenum, ZZ4 cam, Hooker 2050 headers, aftermarket base & runners.
T-56, obviously, with a custom clutch pedal marketed by a member of montecarloss.com. A crossmember is available, but a custom bracket to support the cat may be needed.
I've installed turbo Regal/ GN fuel lines that terminate on the driver's side to feed the L-98. The weak G-body brakes have been improved with Caprice spindles and 12" 1LE rotors.
Pics at www.picturetrail.com/clutch_grabwell (my MCSS.com alias).

Once the machine work is done on the T-56 tailshaft, it's all downhill. The VSS isn't a problem on this application. Wiring the TPI motor will the hardest part.
Good luck, have fun & keep in touch.

I live in Iowa and I had no problem finding a place to do the machine work. If you have trouble finding a place to do the work let me know and I could hook you up with the place that did mine.

Thanks, but I've got a couple options locally. I'll e-mail you if they don't want to attempt this.
