New Slave Cylinder Question
My manual told me to unbolt the slave cylinder and then step on the clutch to bleed it. I was wary but i did it and now i have an exploded slave cylinder. It sucks
A new one from GM is roughly 150 bucks while the one from Kragen is 80 bucks. Will the kragen one be allright?

i think i've bought them cheaper than 80 dollars, but i might be mistaken. i've used aftermarket hydrolic parts with no problems. the gm price may be for slave, MC and line and come prebled, something to consider.

I just replaced my Slave Cylinder TWICE yesterday.....the stock one snapped out as a result of a buddy stepping on the clutch when i wasnt ready (it too was pulled away from the bolts)
This forced the plunger and snapped the plastic body.
I then bought one from Autozone which is some aftermarket one fo 52.99.....It was a metal composite one and much more sturdy, the bleeder is easier to access as well, and much less likely to force the plunger thru the end of the cylinder body. I stripped my bleeder hole accidentally.
Bought the last one in town from Kragen for $60...Put that in and had to use a 3/8 allen wrench or a 1/4..im sure its 3/8 for the bleeder. The Kragen one is the EXACT SAME ONE as the one we both destroyed...just dont remove the plastic piece, and I dont really recommend removing the salve cylinder from the bracket as the Chilton says. The kragen one is a Raybestos-made assy.
To answer your Q: The Kragen one is fine...have a friend to help you, and I recommend gravity bleeding first.
