'93 T56 whats the downfalls other than the steep first gear?
I have just came along a really good deal on a 1993 T56 tranny. I was wandering what other downfalls make these trannys undesireable other than the 2.97 first gear. Any help would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks alot

the third to forth gear drop is huge
1.43 for 3rd and 1 to 1 for 4th.
Why cant thay build a box with the 2.97 first, the .8 fifth gear and the .6 sixth but keep third gear from the close box.

Is second gear still the same in the 93 tranny as 94+? And can i moddify my stock X-member for the T56? will a drive shaft from a 4th gen T56 car work in my 87 IROC? Will a 3rd gen stick console plate line up with the T56 shifter pattern? And my last question for now. Will the 93 flywheel work on my 87 L98? Thanks agine for all you info.

as you can see gearing is different mostly, not sure on the torque ratings, i know the 94+ are rated at 450
