I had the same question a while back, just got it, paid $240 AFTER Shipping, handling, and I have NOT sent in the core to get my $30 back

I got it from www.gmpartsdirect.com

I have read on differnt sites that the stall is 2050 to 2250... Good enough for most of our cars... and its a GM

I was quoted about $180 to have it installed from one place... not cheked around tho... Could do it myself, but I do not need the headache right now... I might do a Vette Servo at the same time...

I just looked at the box, it states remanufactured, no biggie...

The flat-out best is the Vigilante by Precision Industries. It costs over $600 but is worth it in terms of performance and longevity...they take a whoopin' and keep coming back for more.

The best bargain is the S-10 converter as mentioned above. Won't hang with the Vigilante but costs 1/3 or less.

Between these two extremes are the Yank and a few others.
