TH350 woes
I got an 83 Z28 with a 70's 350 block and a TH350. It had a 700r4 in it, and the guy switched over to a TH350. It uses a 700r4 shifter and cable. The shifter cant reach PARK so I have to start it in REVERSE. Is the cable too short? Do I have to use a different shifter? Do I have to get a different cable bracket?
Any help would be appreciated.

Also, my speedo doesnt work. It's mechanical(cable). I also need to get a speedo gear for the tranny. Anyone know what speedo gear I need? Gears are stock, motor and tranny are different.

my rear gear ratio is 3.23s which came stock with the car. So where do I go from there?
For the tranny, i dont think that the cable can be adjusted. Should I just get a longer one?

You can adjust it a slight amount but you would be better off robbing a shift cable/shifter/consol selecter from a 200c 3 speed car or going aftermarket depending on your budget.

A 700-r4 shifter and cable will work fine with a TH350 as long as you use TH350 shift lever on the tranny and TH350 cable bracket bolted to the tranny's pan rail. OD on the shifter will be D on the tranny and so on. You could use a 200C shifter from an '82 Camaro, but finding one is probably impossible. Aftermarket
shifter is probably the way to go.
