How long will my rear end survive with this motor?

Im building a 383 for my 91 RS and i plan on using an aftermarket 6-speed and 3.73 rear gears. Motor will be around 350hp (flywheel) by the time it goes into the car. How long will that factory 10 bolt survive? Im guessing not very long.

They seem to last just fine in the LS1 cars, same rear and all, with more power than that... so yours should be OK if not abused (high-RPM clutch dumps on slicks, speed shifting, etc.)

Seen a fellow at the track Sunday running 730s, with a 406. Stock 10 bolt, with gm 373s. NO girdle either. Says he's been running it for two years, 11" slicks. Hasn't blew it yet.

My 10 bolt has stood up with my 406 so far (touch wood) Next spring when I get it to the track for some hard runs we will see what happens.

that'll kick *** if it can hold out for a little bit. I dont feel like dishing out 2000 bucks for a bad *** 12 bolt. Ill have to try and keep my foot out of it. That'll be a little hard to do though

Usually easing into the throttle will help prolong the life. Slicks and nuetral drops (or anything that will "shock" the drivetrain) could be catastrophic. I'm not really qualified to answer, since I can build them, but have not pushed them to the limits, but I have seen people run 11's on there 10-bolt.
