rear end noise,search didn't help

well, the other night at the track I blew the rear in my IROC and managed to put a 3.42 ring and pinion in. I had to get spider gears also,I shredded 1 of them. So now i get it all together and take it for a ride and it's making the same noise as if the front bearings were going.Everything seems to be in place.Any ideas, what might cause this.Any suggestions would be great. Btw, its a 10 bolt disc rear out of a 92 camaro

Rear end noises...
1. On acceleration ?
2. On float
3. On deceleration

If the noise changes from 1 to 3 It is most likely
ring and pinion setup....

Reasonably likely that it is incorrect bearing preload...
provided your "loaded" patterns look good
Tough to say without more info...

Well I can tell you the story of my noisy 10 bolt. After getting it from the junkyard and just running it around for a few months, I had 3.73's put in. It was making a winey noise under load, so all bearings were replaced. Had it done at the most respected rear end shop in the area. Noise was gone after I got it back. After 3 days it came back. After countless inspections and fluid changes, Art Houser told me that a common problem with 10 bolt type rears (both 7.5 and 8.5) is the outer pinion gear RACE will work itself loose from the housing and vibrate. This is causing my noise. It is very common in stick cars and heavier vehicles. With a heavy synthetic lube it quieted down some. I have driven it like this for over 4 years and it hasn't given me a bit of trouble. Just have to get used to the noise. I have run drag radials and nitrous on this rear and it is staying together.

So this may be your problem. Only real fix is a new housing, although I heard replacing the race is possible if the housing isn't worn to far to cause the new race to do the same thing.

My 9 bolt whines at 50mph and again at 80mhp. It only happens during FLOAT though (decel and accel are quite). Do you know what I need to change in this thing?
