THIS SUCKS. anyone with 6spd experience please help. please..
i am in my driveway (gravel) with rocks sticking in my back changing my 5spd out for my new 6 spd so i can go to the track on sunday and i run into problems OF COURSE no matter how many times i post threads "doing a 6spd swap is there anything i need to know?"
POINT: i have a 1985 TA original 5spd and the flywheel bolt holes are further apart then on the new 6spd flywheel (the 6spd is out of a mid 90's camaro) what do i do?

Just get in touch with Thunder Racing http://www.thunderracing.com/ and they'll hook you up.
Make sure you tell them you're running a 2-piece rear main seal engine with your T56.

Now go slap yourself, get the right flywheel, and put that sucker together. You're gonna love it when it's on the road!

i just pointed out that the t5 flywheel won't work with the t56 clutch.
i did not point out the fact that the flywheel from the lt1 car would not work due to a different sized crankshaft pattern, i thought it had been pointed out already.
you will need to get the aftermarket one that is specifically made to use that style clutch on the pre 86 engine.
i hear its about $350
and downwithET in response to that email, i do not need that flywheel have one on its way to me already

yes the flywheel is about $350 and that was about the cheapest i could find it. if you still dont have the part number do a search under my screen name and you will find at least 5 posts that have the part number the flywheel you need. not your fault you didnt know that 87 up motors have a one peice rear main and the crank hub is totally different, but better research would have solved that. surely you didnt just order stuff without researching anything.
