my 700 is only a 2 speed.

My 700 now will not go past 2nd gear. It will go from 1st to 2nd normally then when it goes to shift to 3rd, it just revs real high, like slipping into neutral. If I floor it, it will catch and have 3rd for a little bit but only at a high rpm. When shifting from first to second the trans makes a banging sound.

If you ask questions I can probably explain better.

I have fully filled it up with b&m trickshift. Could that have broken it?

I talked to a guy in corpus who will rebuild it for $350, and his diagnosis is free. I just have to drop the tranny and haul it over there. Is that hard to do. how heavy is a 700?

Thats the same thing the 700 did in my S10 and my camaro. I'm not sure what does it, but I know nothing about auto trannys and everybody I asked just recommended having it rebuilt (They had lots of miles on them anyway). Taking the tranny out is not hard, but I had a friend to help w/ the heavy parts. Get 1/2" drive extensions, and some universals. Remove the distributor cap as well, since you will have to tilt the tranny back to get to the top bolts. These are the first things that I can remember, and this was also on my V6 camaro, so the transmission was a little narrower.
As far as the weight of the tranny, unless you are pretty strong, get someone to help carry it so you don't hurt your back, as I did carrying it.

thanks for your advice truckman. I probably have no choice but a rebuild. Does anyone know what my symptoms sound like? I don't want to get ripped if there is a simple solution that isn't quite a full rebuild.

Oh yeah, I changed the filter and fluid, but It did not work.

What is lockup? Could that be what is happening??

I'm not stupid but I don't know trannys.
